Six Years

Guess who got married six years ago? That's right, us! Can you even believe it?! Hubby and I were saying that it feels like we have always know each other and have been married, but at the same time we think, "Wow, that went fast!" I think my favorite part about my life is having someone who I feel so utterly at ease with and is completely and perfectly entwined in my life. I love that I know him so well that I can almost predict what he will say sometimes. And I love that we can look at each other across a room and have a whole silent conversation. I also love that he can still surprise me, like last week when he told me a story I'd never heard before where as a kid when he was walking home from school he noticed that a huge dirt pile had been moved and immediately decided that he had entered an alternate dimension! Who couldn't love someone like that, I ask you?

Anyway, we are such old fogies now that our wedding pictures were (prepare yourselves) film! (For all you whippersnappers, read "not digital.") I have all of our proofs and film from our wedding sitting in a junky photo album downstairs so no one has really seen them but me. Since I love to look at people's wedding pictures, I thought I would scan some for everyone to enjoy. Again, since we are so old now they are kind of the older style of wedding pictures, but they are still fun.

I think Tyra could have given me some hints here about looking a little more "fierce"

One of my favorite things about our wedding is/was that all of the trees were flowering. It was beautiful!

Wasn't that fun? Like I said, I like my pictures but they are sort of the old style now. Would it be a little too much for us to rent hubby a tux and for me to put on my dress and go take pictures somewhere? Yes? Darn.

Well here's to 6 wonderful years, and forever more to come! Love you honey!

Wa ha ha ha (evil laugh)

Mine

His

Mine

His

Let it never again be said that I am the messy one!

And yes, I did get permission for this post. And no, I did not clean up my side...ok, maybe just a little.

But it really did look much better than his anyway, cross my heart.

Love you honey bunners, you're a good sport!

Pictures

I downloaded new pictures to share; not much news beyond that. We are finally enjoying some nice weather and E is older so hopefully some fun summer days are ahead!
Hubby's mom had these awesome little chairs from when she was a kid that she's letting us use. They are so cute and the boys love them! We decided to take some fun pictures using them in the backyard. (Please ignore the weeds, I know it's hard!)
He would only pose with his flowers from the peach tree. Oh and of course we couldn't have a normal smile!
Here are hubby and E before church. To be fair, we really did ask G to be in the picture but he responded, "No thanks!" Then he wandered through the wet grass.
Isn't that so cute? Thanks, Grandma, for letting us use these chairs. Aren't they awesome?
I wanted to show E's leg because he is thinning out. SERIOUSLY, this is him skinnier. If I would let him, this kid would nurse all day long. Poor attention deprived second born. All he wants is some mom time (and a little bit of fat on the side).
I tell G I want to smile and this is what a get. The nut.
Finally, this was taken right before bed. The look says, "I'm so stinkin' tired, Mom, why are you taking my picture?"

Overheard

Overheard today in the car...

G: "E, sit."
G: "E, roll over."
G: "E, speak."
G: "Good dog."

Where does this come from?

Tonight we had an interview with a member of our stake presidency to renew our temple recommends. As we were waiting, G kept insisting that he wanted us to all go together. I kept trying to explain that hubby and I would go in separately, but he was insistent that we stay together. I finally said, "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

Bad move. I will narrate some of the conversation that followed.

G: "Where's the bridge?"
Me: "There's not really a bridge, it's just a saying."
G: "What's it made out of?"
Me: "There's no bridge. It just means that we'll decide in the moment."
G: "Is it made of bricks or wood?"
etc. etc. etc. (you can imagine)

Finally it was my turn to go in. I had my interview and came out. G popped up and asked if he could see the bridge inside of the room. We laughed as he looked inside at a very disappointing conference room. Next it was hubby's turn.

A few seconds after hubby had entered the room...
G: "He's takin' FOREVER. Why doesn't he finish. AGHHH!"
Me: "He's only been in there for like 10 seconds. He'll be out soon."
G: "BUT WHERE IS THE BRIDGE?"
ME: "There is no bridge. I'm sorry I ever said it. It's just a saying, like 'he's got a bee in his bonnet' there's not a bee, it's just something you say."
G: (utterly confused look) "I want to see the bridge."
etc. etc. etc.

After a couple of minutes hubby comes out. The member of the stake presidency shakes G's hand and says, "Thanks for coming and having a good time!" to which G replies, "I DIDN'T HAVE A GOOD TIME. I WANT TO SEE THE BRIDGE."

Embarrassed and amused, we started laughing as we ushered him out of the building. "You're such a nut!" I said.

He responded, "I'M NOT A NUT, AND I DIDN'T HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!"

Thank you, we are all aware. And that my friends is G.

Picts.

I finally downloaded the pictures off of our camera. Here were some of my favorites.

Easter Sunday.

E is such a smiley baby. He makes me so happy!

A little self portrait of us hanging out.

He does the funniest faces.

Here is a picture Hubby's mom sent us from our visit to her house. They got baby chicks for Easter--so cute! Unfortunately I am a big chicken (no pun intended) and don't really like holding them. What? They have pointy little beaks and freaky feet. Farm girl, I am not.

I realize this post is pretty E heavy. Where is G? I think I have pictures of him on the other camera. Plus, he got 3 years of uninterrupted camera time. There's a new chief in town. Haha! For all you G lovers, more pictures to come soon. I sure love my boys.

Clarification

Just by way of clarification, I'm doubting that the swearing incident with Grandma took place. G tends to have an imagination sometimes... I just thought that it was funny that he said that.

Unfortunately, the part about myself is only too true.

Good mommy, bad mommy

Today I told G that the Easter bunny won't come to our house if it is dirty so we had to clean it up.

I've never seen him move so fast.

Best idea EVER.

In other news, I accidentally let a naughty word slip today when the drawer fell out of the fridge and I was holding the baby. You know, hoover dam and all that. G repeated it. "We don't say that." I said, "Mommy was naughty, that's not a good word."
"Oh," he said, "but Grandma said that. We better call her and tell her she shouldn't."

Grandma!

Later that night when he couldn't get his pajamas off in the bathroom we heard, "Ahh, d$*% it!"

We weren't thrilled, but we couldn't stop laughing.

Mmm..Cookies

I need this book.  NEED IT! Anyone want to get it for me?
My body is 75% sugar and if I don't replenish it daily I become translucent. Do you want that on your conscience?

Oh, and I'll give you a quarter of the cookies.

WHAT?!

Oh fine, half. (Of the first batch.)
