Someone cute and chubby had a birthday!! No, it was not me. Rude.
Miss H is one year old. Can you believe it? Here are about a million pictures as I'm sure you have all been on the edge of your seats waiting for this moment. I won't feel bad if you skip this one and mark it as "read" on your google reader. Bear in mind, however, that we will all just know that you hate babies and families. It's cool, no pressure.
Since Miss H's birthday was during the week we celebrated a little on her actual birthday as well as with a party on the weekend. On her big day we started by playing the doughnut game. Hubs and I had decorated the night before. I'm really sad that I didn't get any real pictures of the decorations because they were pretty awesome (if I do say so myself.) Anyhoo...
E actually tried to eat the doughnut without his hands this time. It was pretty funny.
We even had Miss H do it.
Our contributions to childhood obesity. Check and check.
One of the things we did was decorate her door so that she walked through a bunch of streamers every time she came in and out of her room. She thought it was hilarious!
We didn't do much during the day. Oh wait, there was that part where we went to the fabric store and G flipped the cart with Miss H strapped into it down on top of himself. Yeah, that was pretty memorable.
At dinner the kids insisted that we wear party hats.
Isn't this kid handsome when he isn't scowling?
Miss H enjoying a cupcake on her actual birthday (we had the real cake at the party pictured below).
Miss H then opened her first girly toy ever, a tea set.
Her brothers then confiscated said tea set and played with it all night.
"Seriously guys, can I play with my tea set?"
We ended the night with a silly string fight. Miss H got pegged in the face. A lot.
On to the party on Saturday. My mom came into town so that was really fun. We had a BBQ at our house and the weather finally cooperated and made it a really nice day.
Here was the cake.
I just wanted a picture with my cute little chandelier thing. G and I made these over the last few weeks.
We played with water balloons and squirt guns.
Miss H finally wanted some revenge for a years worth of torture from her older brothers.
Uncle D and our G ripped one of the towels. Somehow this devolved into the ninja/samurai brothers.
And the next generation of ninja/samurai brothers.
True to one year old form Miss H liked the bags more than the actual presents.
My parents got Miss H this awesome stroller that she can get strapped into now and then converts into a normal stroller as she gets older.
Guess who stole it?
Miss H also got a cute sheep pillow...
Stolen again. Poor baby.
I think this picture sums up the week pretty well.
Thanks everyone for celebrating with us! Miss H is one lucky girl to have so many people who love her. She is truly a joy to have in our family and I am so thankful for her every day.
