This story happened a while ago, but I wanted to write it down so that I could remember it.
For my birthday this year G kept telling me that he wanted to buy me a diamond ring. I would kid hubby about it and say things like, "See if you can get your dad to spring for it," or "G's getting me a diamond ring--what are you going to get?" While I didn't really expect a diamond ring, I did suggest however that hubby take the boys out shopping for a small gift to help set an example of gift giving (i.e. thinking of someone else and trying to get them something special). On the morning of my birthday I woke up to balloons and flowers and a little boy bursting to give me his special present that he had picked out. Imagine my surprise when I was presented with a small jewelry shaped box! I looked at hubby and he just smiled back at me while I opened it to find this inside:

He and G had gone to a couple of different stores and G had picked this ring out all by himself for me. G explained that it was a diamond (CZ--says hubby) that was pink because I'm a girl and a heart because he loves me. He was
soooo proud and excited that he had gotten me a beautiful diamond ring for my birthday.
If you know me, this sort of thing really isn't my particular jewelry style but I have to say it is one of the sweetest gifts I have ever received. I wear it proudly! It is so funny to hear G say, "Mom are you going to wear your diamond ring and your special wedding ring?" At least a couple of times a week he will go and get it out of its box and bring it to me to wear if I have forgotten.
I am such a lucky mother and wife! Thanks for getting me a "diamond" ring for my birthday, guys! I sure love you!
