My younger sister and her husband are graduating from college. Can you believe it!? They asked if I could take some pictures of them to include in an announcement and I was happy to try my hand at it. We had a good time walking around and taking about a million pictures. Here are just a few that I thought were pretty cute. (It helps to have cute models!) Love you guys!

Meadow Gold

I sent this letter to Meadow Gold March 1st (attached pictures and all) and still have not received a reply. Since they do not seem to be interested in my satisfaction as a customer, I thought I would pass it on as a warning to all you ice cream lovers out there.

To whom it may concern,

I usually do not purchase Meadow Gold ice cream, however last week I decided to buy a carton as it was on sale at our local store. I allowed my son to choose the flavor that we would buy and he enthusiastically selected "strawberries and cream." To our disappointment when we actually opened and began to eat the ice cream we have found little to no evidence of strawberries in the ice cream. There is no ribbon of strawberry flavoring; there are no chunks of strawberries; likewise the ice cream does not taste of strawberries and/or is not pink. In fact the only indication that this ice cream may have some association with strawberries is the VERY occasional strawberry seed.

This having been said, my entire family is very dissatisfied with our purchase and can't help but believe that if this is the quality of one of the flavors, it most likely extends to all flavors of Meadow Gold ice cream. As of now, we anticipate that we will not be purchasing more Meadow Gold ice cream in the future.

P.S. I am attaching a picture of what our ice cream looks like, so that you may better understand my description. I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the ice cream is completely white as though it should be vanilla.

Baby headbands

Thanks for your opinions. It sounds like maybe I should just go for it and go short. I'll let you know if I take everyone's advice.

In other news I made these baby headbands and flowers today. I think they are cute--we'll see if she agrees.

G was really excited about making them, though he kept asking why we were doing it. I explained that when babies are little it's pretty hard to distinguish between boys and girls so we dress them up in ways that helps everyone to know. And bonus, maybe if my haircut looks awful, I can borrow one to show everyone that I am still a girl too!

Haircut Opinion?

So every once in a while I start to get an itch. Maybe it's the change in seasons, I don't know. Anyway, I always seem to think that the solution to my problem will ultimately be a new haircut. I see people with cute short haircuts and think--maybe I should do something like that, but maybe the truth is that I look better with long hair. Decisions, decisions. So I want some advice/opinions. Ignoring the goofy picture--what do you think? Which haircut do you like the best?

1. Long and straight (basically just trimming up what I have now)

2. Long and wavy

3. Short A-line

4. Spiky Short

5. Shoulder length (with or without bangs)

In other news, G decided that it was time to decorate for Easter. We got out our Easter stuff and he went to town. This is my favorite decoration he put up all on his own.

In case you can't tell from the picture, it is a ripped piece of notebook paper with the word "ESTR" written on it. This poor child. Do you think maybe we should get more decorations?

E wanted to be in the picture too, although G would like to make sure everyone knows that E had nothing to do with the sign. Oh, and the Easter egg kit has nothing to do with anything except that G is pretty excited about it.

Some interesting conversations we've had at our house lately:

A couple of days ago...

G: Mom, while you were sleeping today I watched America's Test Kitchen and they showed how to make roast beef. You get the meat and put salt and pepper on it. Then you cook it in a pot to make it brown. Then you put it in the oven and cook it. After that you make potatoes and gravy. Did you know that? If you have any questions or need to know how to make a roast beef just ask me and I'll tell you.

Me: Oh, ok. Thanks.

(Today)

G: Mom, did you forget how to make roast beef? Do you need me to tell you again?

We also just recently bought a minivan! It is so awesome, we love it! Apparently it does have one major drawback, though. I was made aware of it last night through this conversation with Hubby.

Me: Don't you love our new van?

Hubby: Yeah it's really nice.

Me: Isn't it so big and roomy?

Hubby: Yeah. I mean, I can't stand up straight in it or anything but it is pretty roomy.

Me: Stand up in it? As opposed to what other car that you have ridden in and been able to stand up straight? The Pope mobile?

Hubby: Oh, I guess. I was just saying.

I live with a couple of nuts.

The boys invented and played this game for about 20 minutes the other day.

The only way I thought it could get funnier would have been if E had puked from the spinning.
