Hubs and I both celebrated birthdays recently. Since we are old and parents, we asked for things like haircuts, time to ourselves, and sleep. We didn't receive any of those things. We still had fun, though, and sometimes it is more fun just because the kids get excited for it.
If I look horrible in these pictures you will just have to excuse the fact that I am old now. And also that our children refuse to sleep later than 6:30 am.
The doughnuts are the kids' favorite part of birthdays.
The last couple of years I have made myself raspberry bread pudding for my birthday cake. It is amazing and the kids won't eat it. Darn, more for Hubs and me.
Hub's birthday.
Miss H actually tried to eat the doughnuts without hands. It was hilarious.
The boys were insistent that they pick out their own gifts for their dad. E picked out a twin pack of beef jerky, and G picked out an X-Men t-shirt.
His birthday cake was an ice cream sandwich cake. It was soo good and so easy to make. Basically you layer ice cream sandwiches with cool whip and whatever toppings you want to use. We used crushed cookies and fudge sauce. Seriously, if you like ice cream then look up a recipe online and make this.
