Graduation and 18 months!

I graduated yesterday, and here are some pictures of me looking like a keebler elf in my cap and gown. Seriously--why didn't anyone tell me how ridiculous I looked? I'm like a Jim Henson character from the movie, Dark Crystal.

Also, apparently when you get an advanced degree, not only do you get a hood but you also have weird Harry Potter style robes. All in all, it was a very fun (and a little bit silly) experience.

Anyway, it was also G's official 18 month birthday. Now he is nursery legal (even though he's been going for months), so we can leave him and not feel bad about breaking the rules. Look at how darn cute this kid is. Just got to give a little shout out to all my nursery peeps--don't worry I'm sure I'll still be in there every week. I don't want the 2 and under crowd in the ward to get nervous. Judging by the fact that G is suffering from severe separation anxiety, and my only friends are the nurserylings I'm sure we will still see a lot of each other.

FINALLY!

G has started to call me Mama! Finally--that little stinker. We were in the Law library yesterday checking out books. I went ahead to find something, and I could hear G with BAB running through all of the aisles saying, "mama, mama!" I'm sure the Law students studying for finals loved us.

Just for good measure here is a picture of G sitting on his plane with his teddy, blanket, and bus.

If I can ever figure out how, I have some really funny videos to post too. Someday...

Just because...

I just thought this picture was cute. They are kind of twinsies again, but I don't think it was as intentional this time.

Our New Line of Hair Care Products

For those of you struggling with your current hair care products, let me introduce you to G's newest discovery...

YOGURT!

Yes, that's right. Now not only are you guaranteed that all day hold, but you also have your choice of fruity flavors, smells, and colors.

What can I say? My boy is not only a genius but also a fashion icon. He must take after his mother.

The Scoop

So now that I have lived in Provo for approximately 7 years, I am starting to find out some of the cool insider places to go for things. For example, about 6 months ago I finally ventured out to the "For Every Body Candle Outlet," which I love. I've also just found the most awesome place called "Rod Works" out in Lehi which has the coolest stuff to decorate your house and is really reasonably priced. So what else am I missing here? I'm sure that there are tons of people who know all of the good places to go for things that I am just completely unaware of. If you can think of anyplace worth checking out please let me know, there are only a couple of criteria:

1. I have to be able to get a bargain. If you know either BAB's or my families of origin than you already understand this one.
2. Preferably not beyond point of the mountain or else it has to be doubly fabulous. (Case in point, the only place I know how to get to in Salt Lake is Nordstrom Rack.)

Let me know if you can think of any, I am always on the lookout for something new and fabulous!

Easter Fun

Here are some pictures from Easter. This was probably the longest weekend of our lives with a wedding and Easter all packed in together. We had a lot of fun, but I think we are all ready to wind down.

G eventually gave up on putting stickers on the eggs and began sticking them on himself and BAB.

We finally got him to sit still and look at the camera long enough for a picture!

Twinsies

BAB is the only guy I know who is super into being "twinsies" with his toddler. I love it! I left for school today at 8:20 and when I got home at 1:00 they were in their matching outfits. How could anyone not love these two?!

In other news, I got my thesis today and I know you are all dying to see what I've put so much blood, sweat, and tears into. Yeah! I'm a real person now!

It's a good thing we have television personalities

This is the funniest SNL clip I've ever seen.

Although I must say that this situation in the second video happens to me all of the time (minus the gun situation) and I find it insulting.

Teddy Bear Picnic

G's new obsession seems to be for any and all teddy bears. Last night, he had to go to bed with three. When we went in to check on him he was conked out, surrounded by his community of bears. I'm not really sure how this new found interest developed although I think we can thank his grandma for the creation of a bear society. When she came to visit, she showed him how to place multiple bears on his toy airplane in order to give them a ride. Yesterday BAB (My husband's code name, I shall be known as B) said that G kept freaking out because he had to arrange all of his bears on the plane and couldn't get them to stay on. Thanks mom!

Super Sized Prayers

This past Saturday and Sunday were General Conference which is great because we get to stay home and watch it on t.v. G was actually much better than I would have anticipated, specifically he really enjoyed the singing by the choir. Here is my beef with this whole situation, though; what is the deal with the super sized prayers? I mean seriously, you weren't asked to give a talk. Normally I would just think--long prayer, no big deal. But we are now in the stage where we are trying to teach G to fold his arms and be reverent for the prayers which he is surprisingly receptive to...unless the prayer is 3 minutes long! G would fold his arms and after about 30 seconds he'd start saying over and over "done, done, done!" Out of the mouths of babes, huh?

My First Post

Hello everybody!
I thought I would try this whole Blog thing out as well. I have been out of the Techno loop for so long that all of these new things make me feel a bit old. I do things to help keep my youth though. I try to work out my body and mind every chance I get. I had a great time yesterday working out my arms while doing CPR on one of my patients at work. Don't worry, he's alive! We also figured out that if we do 22 laps around the nurses station then it is one mile. I also keep my mind fresh by writing. Dad had me write up the Family news letter for the rest of the family this time around because he was out of town. Boy, that was fun. I didn't really know what was going on in the family, besides the obvious things, so I had the opportunity to exercise my imagination. If you have a chance, read it (My families section of course) and see all the fun things the family has been up to. Anyway, enough work out for this week, don't want to over stress anything and injure myself.
