Orlando!

I'm finally posting about our trip to Orlando. This post has about a million pictures, sorry. I also realized that there are some holes in these pictures but that was because we took a lot of pictures with our phones too (which I haven't downloaded). 

Miss H's first airplane ride. She LOVED it. Seriously, I think she was more excited than anyone. 

My sister flew both ways with us since it was cheaper to fly out of our airport. It was nice to have 3 kids to 3 adults.

Here is our first day at Disneyworld (Magic Kingdom). They gave us pins to say it was our first trip. 

Something that we didn't realize about Disneyworld is that it takes forever to get anyone because Disney has so much acerage and so many parks. This is taken at the ticket counter, after we had already driven 20 minutes to park, then taken a tram to the ticketing office. At that stage you have to board a ferry or the monorail to take you to the actual park. It took 1 hr. every time to get in or out of the park. You sort of felt like once you got there, you were committed to stay.

This was E's favorite ride and the ride we did the most--Buzz Lightyear.

E had to pose like a weirdie in all of the pictures. You will see.

This was one of the times we were riding the ferry. We found that we liked it the best, it had a more relaxed feel to it. 

Miss H after her first day...

The second day in Orlando, we stayed around my mom's hotel to be supportive while she did the pillsbury bake off. Here is a picture of us with our matching shirts before she went in to cook.

Her recipe was the one in the upper left hand corner. They were amazing!! Unfortunately she didn't win, but she did a great job and we were proud of her. Plus she created Hub's new favorite dessert. 

We went and saw the famous Peabody Ducks (that was the hotel she was staying at). Apparently they keep these ducks in the hotel and they march them to and from a fountain every day. It's pretty crazy but the kids loved it.

Then we went swimming. The pool was really nice and they had a really cool slide. Unfortunately they would only let G go down the slide so we had to take turns taking him. The kids still had fun playing in the water. After 2.5 hours all the adults were saying, "Are we done?" and the kids were yelling, "No!"

The next morning we went back to Magic Kingdom just our little family. It was great. We did all the kid stuff and H and E loved it. Hubs and I also took turns going on Space Mountain with G. It sounds weird because we were all together, but we ended up getting to do a lot of individual stuff with each of our kids. It was really nice to get to spend some time with each of them one on one. 

Barnstormer--the only roller coaster they would let E ride. He laughed and cheered the whole time. I swear these kids got their Dad's love for roller coasters and speed.

H loved all the rides. She would ooh and ahh over all of them. It was so cute. 

For the afternoon we picked up Grandma and Auntie A and went to Disney's Hollywood Studios. We watched the Pixar parade where E's enthusiasm and love for all things Pixar made the whole trip worth it. He danced so enthusiastically that Bullseye came up and hugged him. E didn't know what to do so he sort of collapsed. It all happened so fast we didn't get a video or anything but it was the funniest thing ever. Afterward E kept saying, "Bullseye hugged me! He was so soft and brown."

E gestured like this naming every character. He was so excited.

And we met E's idol--Lightning McQueen. It was a big day for E.

Umm, we're the parents that don't let our kids wait in line to meet a character and instead say, "Go stand by the window and we'll take one from outside." Haha. 

The next day we went to Disney's Animal kingdom. It was half zoo, half theme park. It was such a beautiful park, it may have been my favorite in some ways. 

We went on a safari where the animals actually walk around loose and you drive through and look at them.

At a certain point I told hubs to stop taking pictures of animals. So he took this picture of an ostrich.

They had amazing carvings all over the park.

The last day we went back to magic kingdom and did a few last rides. Miss H tried to pull all of my hair out while we waited for the jungle cruise. 

This picture makes me laugh.

E and I did the teacups together. He loved it. 

We finished our last day at Epcott. Then we realized we really needed 2 days for Epcott and not a few hours. Whoops. We were all pretty exhausted but it was such a cool park.

They actually had big aquariums with dolphins and fish, this sea turtle and manatees. It was pretty cool. 

The butterfly house

Mom was making fun of us for taking a bunch of butterfly pictures. So I had to include one here. 

The grounds were amazing. This picture does not do it justice.

E said he needed to stop in the British section and call his other grandma.

They had grown these amazing topiaries that were characters out of all the Disney movies. We only took pictures of a few. Sleeping Beauty.

The next morning we flew all day to get home. For being stuck on a plane or in airports for about 12 hours, the kids were amazing. We have been battling the exhaustion from everything we did and the 3 hour time difference for the last week. This is the picture hubs took of us the day after we got back...

Hot. 

Anyhow, we had a lot of fun. It was so awesome to go as a family. The kids loved it and it was such a fun experience to share with all of them. 

Highlights of note:

We went on a water ride and I was so excited that E could go that I forgot that he HATES getting wet if he is wearing clothes. First they made him wear a bracelet because he is little and that freaked him out. Then when we were going through the ride he got sprayed. He immediately put his head down and started crying. Everyone on the raft started laughing because he was so funny. We finally got him to get excited again and enjoy the ride when we went over more bumps and got drenched. He was devastated. No one could stop laughing. He just kept yelling, My BYU shirt is wet!! Stop laughing, it's not funny!! 

E also likes to dance and comes up with some pretty funny moves. The first night we were there he started rocking out to some song while we were in line at Subway getting sandwiches. The employees were laughing so hard they offered the kids free cookies. 

H loved riding on the rides and would point out all the characters yelling, "Buu Bibeer" (Buzz Lightyear) and "Wuh EE" (Woody) I think she liked the rides just as much as the boys did. 

G is a daredevil. He went on all of the fast rides twice--usually once with me and once with hubs, or once with Grandma and Auntie A and then once with Me and Hubs. On one of the rides I was so scared that he and the little girl he was sitting by were comforting me, telling me that it wasn't that bad. Haha.

We had a blast, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Well, maybe give us a couple of months to recover. :-)
