My sister and her husband came to visit us for memorial day. We had a lot of fun and the kids were heartbroken that they had to leave. E kept trying to convince them to take him home with them or that they needed to move back to our town. They love their aunts and uncles!
One thing we did was go to a tailgate party and BYU baseball game. We went last year and had so much fun with some friends of ours, so we jumped at the chance to go this year. Little did we know this year it would be FREEZING! It was still fun, but cold.
We met Cosmo right away. E grabbed his aunt and uncle and said, "Look! There's my friend!" This is right after he and E high fived.
One good thing about it being cold was that lots of people ate in their cars. So we got to meet Cosmo and get pictures with him really easily. He just pulled up a chair and let us snap away!
Bundled up, eating our J-Dawgs
There was face painting for the kids. Miss H got a paw print.
E sat down and said, "I want an Elephant!" The slightly frazzled BYU students tried to comply even though everyone else was getting Y's or paw prints. We couldn't stop laughing.
We all won these snazzy sunglasses, and E even did a little dance for everyone. He is entertaining, I'll give him that.
We went home because it was cold and the game didn't start for another half hour, only to have it start pouring. The game ended up having a rain delay for about 2-3 hours. Eventually we made it back though only to watch BYU get slaughtered 17-1.
It was soooo cold! I couldn't believe it was Memorial day and that the year before we had all gotten sunburned!
Miss H just enjoyed eating the snacks. E liked the game overall, but started to get cold and antsy. G was mad that BYU wasn't trying hard enough and lost. Hmm, looks like he got a bit of my competitiveness after all. :- )
On Sunday, we thought we would beat the rush and visit my Grandparents graves. It was so packed! Then we felt bad that they didn't have anything and decided to go back Monday with flowers. It turns out that we had beat the rush. Monday was even crazier. It was still good, though, and we got to talk to the kids about their grandparents and other relatives.
We had a lot of fun having family visit. It makes me miss them living closer. I'm just glad that they aren't too far away!
