The meanest

Overheard last night a few minutes after putting the boys to bed:

(THUMP--G's head hitting the wall as he is goofing around in bed. G starts crying...)

G: E! It is not funny! (more wailing) Stop it! It is not funny! (crying some more) YOU ARE THE MEANEST BROTHER IN MY ENTIRE FAMILY!! (huge scream at his brother--then E is crying)

Monkey

We're thinking that E has been watching too much Battlestar Galactica lately, he's always saying the word "Frack."

Also, he likes to swing on everything and eats like three bananas a day. It's a good thing that we already called him monkey.

*By the way, for any of you concerned citizens, we don't actually let him watch Battlestar Galactica. That was a joke. Maybe they just started using the word on Sesame Street too? I wouldn't know since I sleep through the boys' six am viewing every day.

Slug Bug

If you have ridden in a car with G lately, it's pretty obvious that he is currently obsessed with slug bugs. We saw one for sale in the neighborhood and it totally blew his mind that someone might want to sell theirs.

Anyway, I've been wanting to try out using the freezer paper stenciling technique that's on all of the crafty blogs lately and I finally got around to making G a shirt. G and I debated what design to do and he (of course) decided on a slug bug. It was a lot more detailed than I would have liked to start out with but I couldn't resist. It was just too perfect. He was so excited to wear it for the first time today.
I thought it turned out pretty cute. Now I'm thinking of all the shirts I can make for myself!

Sleeping Cutie

The other night before bed, Dad was frustrated at G due to his constant dawdling. While we (G and I) were in his room getting him tucked in he weepily asked, "Will you ask Dad to draw a picture of himself and slide it under the door?"

"What?" I said, "you want Dad to draw you a picture of himself and slide it under the door?"

"Yeah, I think that will make me feel better," he said.

"That's weird, G," I laughed.

"It will make me feel better," he insisted.

"Ok!"

And you know what?

It worked.

7 years

Hubby and I just celebrated 7 years of marriage! Can you even believe that we are old enough to have known each other that long?

The other day the boys and I watched the Pixar movie UP together. I don't think I've ever watched this movie without crying. In particular this scene gets me every time--it's amazing how beautifully it portrays sharing a life with someone you love.

Love you honey! I would choose you again a million times over!
