So a couple of hours ago I was doing that afore mentioned homework while little G played quietly in his room. As I breezed through my reading enjoying the peace, it suddenly struck me that I was making the horrible rookie mistake of assuming that because my child was quiet he was not destroying something. BIG MISTAKE! I decided it was time to check on my little angel and see what he was up to. Was he in his room, playing nicely with his toys? No...
I walked into our room to find him on the floor with our brand new computer splayed out as he is pushing all sorts of buttons! I grabbed the computer and we had a talk about the fact that he knows he is not allowed to use it unless Mommy and Daddy help. Then it happened. As I moved it to the dresser I noticed that it was rattling. Now I don't know if anyone is the computer expert that I am, but rattling is usually not a good sign. It was then that I realized that rather than quietly playing with toys as I had assumed, he had been shoving things into the disk drive opening. (Since it is a mac, it's just a slot across the side.) Sure enough I shook 4 quarters out of the disk drive and little G landed himself a spot in time out.
WHY do kids come up with these things?! I hope that the computer is alright. I used the drive and it worked. On the upside, I suppose I know where to look next time I need some spare change.

New Picts.
I've been very bad lately about putting pictures up on our blog. I've been spending every moment rotating between the important tasks of reading The Ranger's Apprentice series, watching the old t.v. show Roswell, and writing a stinker of a lit. review for one of my classes. (This also means that I haven't been doing any of my other homework so now I am really behind and trying to catch up on that.) Needless to say, I've been SWAMPED--I can't imagine anything I could possibly cut out of my schedule (said sarcastically)!
Anyway, I finally downloaded some new picts. I'm still in the experimenting phase of using my camera so a lot of these aren't great but I am having fun playing with it. Enjoy!
G looking fancy in one of his new suits.
Dressing up as Shrek. He actually threw a fit while wearing these the other day. I can't tell you how hard it was not to laugh at him, we had to run to the bathroom. For some reason when you dress like this it's hard for people to take you seriously...
How does he sleep like this?
More eggs
These are from an experimental/impromptu photo shoot I did of G. They're not great, but I love the idea of them.

I should be writing a lit review...
So of course here I am posting on my blog. Jeez, you would think it would kill me to write this one darn paper. Maybe it will--therefore I must write about completely unnecessary things.
We are super excited for Easter to come...super early this year. Really, isn't Easter really early this year? It's in the same week as St. Patrick's day. How do these things get decided? Though it an early holiday, however, I'm not complaining.
I actually really like Easter.
I love that it's a spring holiday and it makes me feel happy to celebrate spring after the nasty winter. In fact, this has been the lousiest winter for almost everyone I can think of. From about November on, it seems that a lot of people I know had the cruddiest few months. I'm so happy to see the sun and watch the little green shoots coming up in our yard. It feels like hope.
So here's a list of things I'm looking forward to in the coming week(s):
1. My mom is coming and we're going wedding shopping for my sister
2. CANDY (that is mainly for my little G, but I love candy too!)
3. The re-emergence of my flip flops
4. New spring outfits--or ones that feel new because they haven't been worn for so long
5. Chicks! (We're getting them for Easter for Grandma's farm) We were initially told that this was a secret, until we learned that everyone else already knew.
6. Planting a garden in our garden boxes
7. Going swimming at the "cool" as G refers to it.
8. Water balloons
9. Playing outside where there is actually fresh air!
10. Oh and my coursework will be done! No more classes--is that the hallelujah chorus I hear?
And just to let you all know (since a couple of people expressed concern) we were able to save the pictures off of our hard drive but little else. Bad news--it seems that it was actually our hard drive that died on the old lap top. Good news--if we buy a new hard drive our computer will probably still work. So now it just depends on how much that costs and whether we think it's worth it.
Finally, here is the picture of me appearing as though I'm pregnant with twins the day before I gave birth to G. This was on the old hard drive--who would want a gem like this to be lost?

Where does he get it?
So today in the kitchen before dinner I start poking G. After a few pokes he loudly exclaims:
"Stop it, you're driving me CRAZY!"
Where could he have learned that? He must of heard it from his father.

Getting to know G
As per request, here are 9 things that might be interesting to know about our wonderful little G:
1. He is a really good little boy with a sweet disposition. Sometimes when he is playing with friends he will start to be disobedient but when I remind him that he isn't being very obedient his response is, "Sorry mom." He is really sensitive to our emotions, and really doesn't want to hurt anyone. He has started talking in somewhat of a curt manner. One night in response I said, "Hey, that's not nice, you are hurting my feelings." His response? He walked over and gave me a big hug.
2. He has a really good sense of humor and is really funny. He will tease me by saying things he knows aren't right (like saying Grandma cut here hair when she didn't) then he'll finally say, "Mom, I'm just kidding." Whenever we ask him what he wants to name one of his toys, the only name he finds suitable is "Peanut." Why? So we can sing Peanut, Peanut Butter...and Jelly! He repeats funny things he's heard us say and generates them on their own at really funny times. For instance, the other day he walks over to his dad and says, "you're a skinny bunns."
3. He is beginning to be highly opinionated about his clothes. We picked out new ones the other day and he had to have the red flip flops and the green sandals. (Maybe he's really into Christmas?) He wanted to try everything on and every time he did he had to specifically look at the price tag and say, "20 dollars."
4. He has default numbers, colors, and times for any question we ask that relates to these characteristics. The time is always 16, everyone's age is always 2, he always weights 28, and as mentioned previously, everything costs $20.
5. He is a really good helper and is pretty self sufficient. He sets the table every night (which he does as SLOWLY as possible but throws a fit if I do it). He has to say the prayer at every meal (which is the same prayer every time and he won't let us help him say it). And he has to buckle his car seat even if it takes him a few tries. I admit, while I miss my sweet little baby that let me rock him and sing to him, I'm really loving the fact that when he asks for a peanut butter sandwich I can say, "Ok, will you get the jam you want out of the fridge?" which he does, and then afterwards puts it back. NICE. I hate him growing up, but I do appreciate the help.
6. He loves to sing and he loves to go to church (where he us taught church songs). Sunday is the only day I don't have to fight him to get dressed. I, on the other hand, wouldn't mind a break once in a while. Good thing he's keeping me honest!
7. He LOVES Shrek. His auntie gave him a creepy mask (thank you very much) which he thinks is awesome. He also watches the shows at least a couple of times a week. We need to get the third one in order to add in some variety.
8. He or we has/have to spill at least 1 glass of water a day. It never fails--in fact he has spilled his requesit one as I typed these final few points. Awesome.
9. He loves Costco almost as much as I do. Every time I say we need to go somewhere he says, "ok, go to Costco?" He agrees with his dad, however, on the fact that it's not as enjoyable if there aren't samples.
I suppose I should add a cute picture of him somewhere here, unfortunately our computer DIED the other day with all of our pictures. Bummer. On the upside, we just got a sweet new Mac. Supposedly once you go Mac you never go back. Plus there were a lot of smart looking Asian people buying them when we were. I'm going to take that as a good sign.

Tagged again!?
So I guess someone does want to hear my answers because I got tagged again and this time I am on top of it. This one is a little different so it should be fun.
1. What's his name? I'm assuming my husband? This is not a very informative question because I know more than one male.
2. How long have you been married? Oh ok, 5 years in May.
3. How long did you date? 4 months until we got engaged, 8 months total until marriage. Sick, huh? We were in love
4. Who eats more sweets? ME. Although he does manage to eat the last of everything to steal the satisfaction of having the last one.
5. Who said I love you first? Him, in the car, listening to our love mix. This is so embarrassing.
6. Who is taller? He is. He's 6'2'' so I feel a little guilty that I stole him from all the tall girls of the world. But not guilty enough.
7. Who can sing better? Well, I think probably me though he is an enthusiastic singer. He isn't bad, just sometimes his enthusiasm goes awry.
8. Who is smarter? This is a trick question. Ask this in regard to people and it's me hands down (though I don't always take my own advice). Ask this in regard to anything related to the hard sciences and I immediately fall asleep while he talks for hours.
9. Who does the laundry? We go in spurts. I think we're on a 5 month long spurt where he does it. Can that be considered a spurt anymore?
10. Who pays the bills? He does. I have no idea how much we have or where it goes. This is my fault, he would gladly talk about it but I go a little nuts when I hear we have $20 to our names.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of bed? I have the right side and he has the left. If you lay on his side he gets really grumpy, but I feel like it's a vacation.
12. Who cooks dinner? I cook, he reheats. I hate leftovers, so I cook.
13. Who drives? He does, though I am the most annoying passenger ever because I'm afraid of everything.
14. Who is more stubborn? We're both stubborn in different ways. I'm noisy, angry stubborn, and he's passive aggressive, quiet stubborn. Drives me CRAZY.
15. Who kissed who first? he did and he laughed the whole time. I was so mad I just about walked off. He claimed it was from having just seen the friends where Rachel can't stop laughing when she and Ross kiss...still sounds fishy to me.
16. Who asked who out first? He asked me, but I didn't know it was a date until he bragged to my roommates that he had 4 dates that weekend with one being me. He knew just what a girl loves to hear to feel special.
17. Who proposed? He did.
18. Who wears the pants? Neither of us really enjoys being bossed around, but each of us is more bossy in our area of expertise. He's bossy when it comes to home improvement, yard work, etc. I'm bossy when it comes to food preparation, dishes, and general housework. Oh and probably in raising our child. What? Have you seen my kid? How could I not be a momma bear with someone that great?

Tagged...
I was tagged a little bit ago and I completely forget about it. I actually enjoy reading other people's versions of these--though I always doubt anyone actually wants to hear mine. Well, here goes anyway.
TEN YEARS AGO.... I was a sophomore in high school, yuck. Sadly I really don't remember much of that year. Hmm...did that year even happen? Why don't I remember my childhood?
FIVE PLACES THAT I HAVE VISITED....... Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Hawaii (Maui), Most of the west coast and a path through some of the Midwest.
FIVE THINGS ON MY TO DO LIST.......
1. Take a test tomorrow
2. Make a PowerPoint for school
3. Finish my dissertation
4. Write a literature review that I really don't care about
5. Make sure I've got all my primary stuff taken care of.
I ENJOY.....when my sweet little boy actually lets me rock him and sing to him, wasting time shopping online (J.Crew, Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, Gap, Banana Republic, rinse and repeat), reading Eric Snider's snide remarks, reading juvenile and teen fiction, eating (treats mainly), P.F. Chang's, COSTCO!!, people watching, and reading blogs (I can be a little of an Internet voyeur--why are other people so darn interesting?).
THREE BAD HABITS.....
1. Sometimes my language isn't as nice as it should be. This primarily comes to my attention when I am around a really conservative person or when my son repeats back something like, "IDIOT!"
2. I am not great about cleaning my house.
3. I get mad at my wonderful husband about a million times more often than he gets mad at me. At least I'm really good at apologizing.
FIVE THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME........
1. I have a lot of guilty pleasure t.v. shows. Pretty much if it's a reality show and I watch it once I get sucked in. That is except for big brother--I still don't get that show.
2. I hate small Tupperware--it grosses me out. Ditto for stickers, ranch dressing, and chocolate milk.
3. I HATE talking on the phone. I would rather email, snail mail, even smoke signal, any day.
4. I subscribe to about 22 blogs, only 5 of which I believe I have directly been invited to and who I would consider to be my friends. Is that creepy?
5. I think I might have mild social phobia. Unless its with a family member or someone I'm SUPER comfortable with, about 10 minutes before a social interaction I start freaking out and thinking about how I can get out of it.
FIVE JOBS THAT I HAVE HAD..... Lab Assistant, Jamba Juice employee, Vending machine filler, Research Assistant, Teacher's Aide, Teacher.
There you go. Since all five of my friends have probably already done this, I suppose I am the end of the chain, but if not feel free!
