Royal Wedding

I've never really gotten the desire to be a princess. Is it weird then that after looking at this,

I sort of get it?

Go brunette princesses! Ha--take that all you blondes!

Maybe it's the dress. I should get mine out and wear it around. Would it be too far to make hubs rent a tux?

Yes?

Ok.

At least he is way better looking and has all of his hair!

Little Miss Toddler

Miss H has decided that she is becoming a toddler. It's all very rude if you ask me.

She has decided that nursing is too juvenile (unless it is the middle of the night--then it's delightful).

She has decided that headbands are for the birds.

We swear she says "Dad" and "Hi" and "Bye" and "Mama" when she's mad. (Why do kids always do that!?!)
She thinks she can play with the big boys.

She pulls everything out of my cupboards and makes huge messes.

She hangs on my legs all of the time because they are the best baby walker around (regardless of the fact that we have 2).
AND she has learned to throw lovely fits. As witnessed by our whole ward since we sat on the third row on Sunday.

It's a good thing she has gotten a little dimple in her cheek when she smiles because otherwise she would totally be breaking my heart!! ;-)

P.S. If you are a mother--especially with kids at home--read this. I stumbled across this woman's blog the other day and she expressed my feelings so perfectly. I loved it!

Our week (so far) by numbers

Monday:

5 minutes
The amount of time that E locked me out of the house.

3
Number of children in the house.

0
Number of children who let me back in. G explained that he isn't supposed to open the door without permission. I explained that I am not a stranger. Hmmm...can not compute logic (said using my best robot voice).

Number of glasses of milk E asked for and promptly dumped out.

1
Number of "big glasses" of milk that finally appeased his toddlerhood.

10 seconds
Amount of time E tried to hold the garage door open with his super tiger toddler strength before the garage door sensor triggered.

Tuesday:

45 minutes
Amount of time Miss H napped all day.

2
Times attending play group set on Tuesdays around Miss H's nap time.

3 months worth (10-15)
Number of Tuesday play groups that have been held.

30
Number of easter eggs G hid outside for E to have an easter egg hunt.

40
The number G wanted E to cover his eyes and count to.

10
The number that E is consistently able to count to by himself.

14
The highest number E achieved.

4
Number of times E said 14 before he gave up and started collecting eggs anyway.

Wednesday:

3
Number of apples we had to buy at the store because E took a bite out of them while I was picking out other apples.

Number of apples G had to have because his brother had apples. Believe me, the discrepancy was noted.

Number of balloons given to me by the cashier for the boys.

1
Number of sad babies.

Number of balloons I procured for said baby myself.

BEST DAY of Miss H's life.

Thursday:

40
Degrees outside.

Number of people in our family at the store.

Number of said family members wearing jackets.

1
Number of additional containers of strawberries put in the cart by E.

Pounds of strawberries in a container.

Pounds of strawberries bought today. Am I worried we won't eat them? Nope.

10 minutes
Amount of time 2 boys got along wonderfully so they could play angry birds together on the IPhone.

10 intermittent minutes
Amount of time said boys hit, punched, and yelled at each other so that they could play angry birds alone on the IPhone.

Number of boys running away from the scary baby.

Number of happy babies to be included in the game.

Infinity +1
Number of ear piercing screams emitted by all 3.

With a life like this, who needs t.v.?!

When did these kids decide to grow up so fast?

Things That I Don't Get!

I think overall I'm a pretty intelligent person, but sometimes I just don't get certain things. Here are a few that I've been pondering lately.

1. Wearing spandex workout pants/capris like they are clothing.
Has anyone else noticed this trend other than my sister and me? Since when did spandex come back in style, and likewise wearing it all around town like it is fashion? I remember being in track and we would all laugh at the idea of wearing our spandex running "tights" without shorts over them. It was a horrifying thought. Now I can't tell you the number of people I have seen wearing these like they are pants. Just so you know--they are not.

2. Camel-packs.
Now let's get this one straight. If you are doing some serious hiking or camping or something this is a totally appropriate device. I just don't get the person who is going for a casual 30 minute jog. Or who is watching a football game or something. Like seriously--maybe you can get a prescription for an IV and skip the extra effort and time of having to move your lips and suck the water up the tube.

3. Men wearing super tight women's jeans.
Why in the world would I want to see a man wearing the same jeans I am, only in a smaller size?  Enough said. Along with this one is the new frumpy trend--victorian style shoes, ugly Mr. Rogers sweaters, glasses that looked like they belonged to your grandpa. It's like D. I. threw up, and no one likes throw up.

4. The Bachelor/bachelorette
A bunch of trashy people trying to hook up with another trashy person, then acting surprised when everyone acts trashy. Ok, wait, I take it back. I do sort of get it.

5.  Buying any sort of movie memorabilia.
That is not the actual ring of power. Not even close. You just spent $60 on a stupid ring that has made up words on it because--sorry to tell you--there is no such language as Elvish. Likewise, your Harry Potter wand will not perform magic and your Batman knife doesn't make you a superhero. Don't even get me started on vampires vs. werewolves. Hey, don't shoot the messenger.

6. People that take their kids to an indoor fast food play place for like 5 hours. Especially when they are local and it is nice outside. Maybe they're like Mr. Potato Head, "I feel fresh, healthy. It's terrible."

Hope I didn't offend anyone. It seems like anytime I say something like this it always comes back around to bite me and I look like a big hypocrite. So in other words look forward to me wearing spandex pants with a camel pack and baggy sweater while waving a Harry Potter wand at the McDonald's down the street. I will be shouting, "behaviamos!" at my children. Maybe it will work?!?!
